Mizuho Hispanic
Heritage Month 2024
Visual Concept
Every year for Hispanic Heritage Month, Mizuho’s Creative Services team is tasked with creating a visual concept that aligns with a specific theme for the month provided by the Mizuho Latinx Employee Network (UNIDOS). The concept is used for multiple deliverables and internal events throughout the month in order to help celebrate Mizuho’s diverse employees.
This year, the theme was “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together” with the hope of relaying a message that is positive, eye-catching and powerful. The goal was to celebrate Latin influence and the future of the Latin community in the United States, ensuring that they are seen, heard and represented.
In order to achieve the UNIDOS Network’s goals with this month’s theme, I leveraged the UNIDOS custom branded color palette and an emphasis on typography. The graphic is embellished with traditional Latin-style florals and design elements with a modern twist. Focusing on typography emphasizes and strengthens the meaning behind the theme and is supported by a modernized interpretation of traditional Hispanic design. Each unique botanical element represents a different Hispanic country and creates a metaphoric representation of growth and hope for the future of the Latinx community in America.
