Lunar New

Year 2026

Visual Concept

Every year for Lunar New Year, Mizuho’s Creative Services team is tasked with creating a visual concept that is used for multiple deliverables throughout the event in celebration of Mizuho’s employees and their heritage.

This year, I was able to create a lantern-themed graphic highlighting 2026 as the Year of the Fire Horse. This year is marked by movement, ambition, and bold action, preferring to embrace the pursuit of personal growth rather than staying stagnant. It also represents intense passion, untamed energy, and transformative change. The visual identity uses a lantern theme and “light-inspired” typography to create the image of a horse’s head created from rays of light. This artwork exudes the power, energy and spirit of the Year of the Fire Horse.

I was able to leverage red and gold in order to create a glowing lantern effect with graphic typography for employees to engage with across multiple touchpoints such as digital and print signage, promotional and educational materials.
